For many of us, remote working has become a way of life in recent years. It has become the “new normal” after the Covid-19 crisis where instant messaging colleagues on Slack and scheduling meetings on Trello comes as second nature to everyone.

According to Inc, nine out of ten workers who work remotely now intend to continue doing so in the future. This trend results from the efficiencies and advantages people have discovered after working from home.

The advantages of flexible or remote employment are apparent. Let’s look at these five significant advantages of remote work for employees.

Pros Of Working Remote:

1.   Better and Healthy Work-Life Balance

Employees are concerned about maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Maintaining a balance in personal and professional lives has become crucial for mental and physical health.

Remote working allows professionals to utilize their time better and dedicate a good chunk to their family and friends. This accelerates productivity and results in a healthy work-life balance.

2.    Reducing Commute Stress

In the United States, the average one-way commute time is 27.1 minutes, that’s an hour each day spent travelling to and from work, and it adds up quickly. By eliminating your commute, you can better support your emotional and physical wellness.

In addition, the time saved may be used for things other than work, such as getting in more sleep in the morning, spending more time with family and working out etc.

3.   Flexibility

One of the most significant advantages of WFH ( working from home) is the option to join overseas companies without the need to be present at the workplace physically. This also applies to job seekers living on the outskirts of countries who would have to relocate inside the city otherwise.

You can be as flexible with your working hours as you want to be, given you don’t have to do many collaborations with the other team members. So, for example, if you’re a morning person, you can schedule all the meetings and the rest work during those hours and rest in the evenings.

4.   Enhanced Productivity

Did you know the most significant production gains in 2020 occurred in April and May, when the epidemic was at its peak? Remote working has increased grossly increased the productivity of the software industry.

Remote working is in line with several recent cultural shifts made possible by technological breakthroughs.

With these new freedoms, we must consider how the columns of work-life are reconstructed around our fading office walls to establish a ‘workplace’ that benefits both today’s companies and tomorrow’s workforce.

Though the pandemic may have prompted millions of people worldwide to work from home, it is far from the primary motivation. Indeed, the advantages of working from home have such a broad influence on a worldwide scale that it is destined to become the best option.
